Service Connector Integration

Overviewhttps://www.compliance.ai/api/docs/service-connector/

  • Compliance.ai provides another very flexible solution to integrate with. Instead of you retrieving or pulling the enriched content from Compliance.ai through the API or RSS methods, the Service Connector publishes the content into the destination of your choice and in the format of your choice
  • There are a few coordinated steps required to get the Service Connector integration up and running:
    • First, we use Search Filters and Alerts to filter out the noise based on your criteria
    • Secondly, we configure the data mapping and apply any additional dependencies to the content that will be published
    • And lastly, we test and set up the Service Connector so it is publishing the content on a set schedule into the destination and format of your choice

Filter out the Noise

  • With the Search Filters and Alerts features on the application, users can create searches and alerts based on their own criteria, including specific regulatory sources, topics, referenced citations, regulations, and jurisdictions.
    • To go more into details on using the search feature and being able to create alerts, please review the separate training videos specific to these features on the training program.
  • Once you have honed in on the content you are interested in, it can then be automatically published to external Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems, workflow solutions, business process automation products, or other content management platforms via the Compiance.ai Service Connector.
    • We currently have many integrations that utilize the Service Connector and its compatibility with various partners like Metricstream, RSA Archer, Logic Manager, riskonnect, and many others

Configuration

  • After we have determined what content we want published, we can then dive deeper into configuring what attributes you want to see for each document and make sure they are mapped to your third party system correctly.
    • These custom fields can include enforcement metadata, and sentence-level document data, such as obligations
  • In addition to publishing the documents themselves and all their accompanying attributes, we can also publish user-generated annotations and obligations that are added to the document within the Compliance.ai application
  • The Service Connector can also utilize the Workflow feature found on the Compliance.ai application to create dependencies between what content is published and when.
    • This means that when documents fall under a certain alert’s search criteria, the user can create a task to have those documents reviewed and/or labeled by a team member before that document is pushed into their GRC system, which provides an extra level of analysis
    • This extra level of analysis can include the user generated annotations and obligations that are added to a document by a user.
    • When paired with the tasks dependencies from workflow, you have the flexibility of publishing all obligations and annotations found on a document or publishing only the ones that a team member has reviewed and/or added.
    • Another use case we have seen is that documents that meet an alerts criteria are all pushed into the GRC system, and then when a team member adds in their annotations to the document within our application after the fact, those added annotations are then published into the GRC system and a relation to the document that was previously published is created within the system

Publishing

  • The flexibility of the Service Connector integration provides countless options to build the right solution for you and your organization.
  • This involves a coordinated effort between you, our client, the Compliance.ai team, and the third party system to ensure that your business requirements are met and the content is consistently published from Compliance.ai to the third party system
    • After the content’s business requirements are clarified, Compliance.ai will create and setup the Service Connector and then work with your third party system to publish the content on a set schedule into the destination and format of choice
    • The integration is then tested to make sure that the content (which includes documents and user generated data) is correctly publishing based on your set criteria, along with all the configured attributes
    • The whole process of setting up the Service Connector integration can take up to 3 to 4 weeks

Closing

  • The Service Connector method is the most flexible solution offered by Compliance.ai. It gives you access to all the enhanced regulatory content and related information added on Compliance.ai’s very own application.
  • This video was mainly to give you an overview of what is possible with this integration method. With the combination of alerts created using filters and the dependencies created using workflows, this is a very popular solution for our clients and partners alike.
  • For more integration options, check out our “Integration Options with Compliance” video or dive deeper into the Basic Training for each one.
